Collage group beat RCAA by 6 wkts

NEW DELHI: With the help of fine batting by Parminder Singh (137 not out ,, 12x4, 4x6 b98 ) ,and bowling by medium pacer Vikas Tokas who tok 5 wkts for 59 runs Collage group entered the SF round of the 38th All India Goswami Ganesh Dutt Memorial Cricket Tournament 2011 as they easily defeated last year semi finalist Rajasthan Cricket Association Academy by 6 wickets in the second quarter final round match played here at St. Stephen's College Ground, Mori Gate, Delhi.

Collage group skipper Narinder Singh won the toss elected to bat field first. Rajasthan Cricket Association Academy scored a good total of 255 runs in 40 overs by loosing 7 wkts with the help of Robin Bisht 41 ( 2x4 b59), skipper Ashok Manaria 102 not out ( 9x4 4x6 b6) and Azim Akhtar 32 not.

At one stage Rajasthan lost 4 main batsman Parnav Sharma 8, Vivek Yadav 15, Ankit Lamba 24, and Vaibhav Deshpandey 12 at 84 in 17.1 overs. Ashok Manaria and Akhtar put on 73 runs for 6th wkts in 6.4 overs. Medium pacer Vikas Tokas bowled well and tok 5 wkts for 59 runs in 8 overs.

Aashish Malhotra and Sanjay Gill also tok 1-1 wkts each. In reply Collage Group crossed the rival total 255 runs in 38.1 overs by loosing 4 wkts.

Collage Group lost first 2 wkts of Sanjay Gill 20 ( 3x4 1x6 b13) and Ramez 4 at 31. Then Kamal Beniwal ( 4 ( 3x4 b76) and Parminder Singh played a gallant knock and put on 123 runs for 3rd wkts in 18.5 overs. Than Pankaj Joshi and Jaideep Chaudhary 22 not out complete the formalities with Parminder Singh and helped their side to win the match by 6 wkts and entered the semi final. Parminder Singh remained not out with 137 with the help of 12x4 4x6 in 98 balls.

Ankit Vivek, Aritha Senghvi and Ashok Manaria took 1-1 wkts each.
